The Light Academy Networking Light Information The Light Academy was founded in October of 1997 in Freiburg, Germany. The Light Academy has the status of a non profit organisation which is financed by donations and membership fees. Members are working in different fields such as architecture, interior architecture, lighting design, light art, theatre, medicine, physics and information science. The Light Academy is intended to become an interdisciplinary forum, which will address the effects of light on the human being. Therefore it will look after the interests of people who live in the light which is created by architects, lighting designers and lighting industry. Out of this intention we have collected several topics which could help to develop a holistic understanding of light serving as a foundation for new ways of working with light in different professional fields.
